CERD reviews the combined seventh to ninth periodic reports of Azerbaijan on the implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination

On 3-4 May 2016, the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan led by H.E. Mr. Khalaf Khalafov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 89th session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) in Geneva for the consideration of the combined seventh to ninth periodic reports of Azerbaijan on the implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

In the course of the consideration of the reports, CERD welcomed the submission of the combined seventh to ninth periodic reports of Azerbaijan, which included responses to the concerns raised by CERD in its previous concluding observations. CERD also commended the regularity in reporting and welcomed the open and constructive dialogue with the high level delegation of Azerbaijan, as well as the reassurance by the delegation about the readiness of Azerbaijan to fully implement the Convention.
